Mortgage arrears and repossessions
(including home purchase plans) Are you having problems paying your mortgage (or home purchase plan), or do you expect to have these problems soon? Is your lender trying to repossess your home? It’s best to act sooner rather than later. This way, you may be more likely to keep your home. If you can't meet your mortgage repayments, or you're worried you might fall behind, contact your lender as soon as possible. You can also get free independent advice from other organisations. Alternatively, you may be able to get help with your mortgage from new government schemes. |

Get a loan, mortgage, credit card, contract mobile phone or even monthly car insurance and lenders ‘score’ you to predict your likely behaviour. Scoring systems are never published and differ lender to lender, and product to product. So just because one company rejects you, it doesn't automatically mean another will. |

Halifax Pledge on Tracker Deals |

The Halifax mortgage lender says it will pass on any more cuts in bank rate to half a million existing borrowers who have one of its tracker deals. The bank has a clause in its mortgage agreements which says it can chose to stop cutting its interest rates once the bank rate falls below 3%. But the Halifax now says it will not in fact do this. The Bank of England, as widely expected, has announced it is cutting its bank rate from 3% to 2%. |
